Did you say One Thousand Ton GVW?

Do you understand what 1000 ton is? And what it will do to a axle group under it? Im not your enemy, but if a vehicle is rated for a thousand tons there is only one application and that is Road train in Australia, something they really should get started in the States.

I appreciated the earlier comments about the 8x8.

With all that frame space you think to build a conventional body on it, get the driver's body towards the middle of the frame for a much better ride plus opening up a possiblity of a team situation with a big sleeper capacity. 5th wheel would go over the last set of drivers to the rear.

Yes, it is designed to pull 1000 tons, you can put a load of 42 tons (92,000 lbs) on the fifth wheel. You can download the specs here .

MAN has been building these trucks for a long time, and as I wrote before Tatra did the same even before the iron curtain fell (the Czech Republic was communist at the time). These trucks have a very low profile, it is very easy to get in and out. The ride is excellent, many surplus vehicles are in use as campers or off-road buses. Replacing the engine is very easy, you lift it up from the chassis.

The patriot missile system of the US army is also mounted on MAN trucks, it is no wonder that Oshkosh developed a similar vehicle.

No, but it was Oshkosh that clearly put a lot of 'design' in the shape of their vehicle. Look at the front fenders, what is the reason for such a shape? I suppose both vehicles will have about the same width, but the passenger compartment of the German vehicle is much wider, more space for the men. And look at the nose, the driver of the German vehicle has much more vision of what is directly in front of him.

Yes, if I remember correctly, at the time it was the only vehicle that was fit for the job, and could be delivered in time.

Let me ask you this Caesar.... What is the basis of your vast knowledge with these truck systems in Europe? Or more precisely what is it that you DO in life around these things?

Most American drivers will have a hard time either understanding the trucks to that level you profess or begin to wonder if it is all based on paper charts and diagrams? Im still not fully convinced that one image of the Man is a full 8x8... more like a forward two axles driven. That is just one question.

Im not trying to make trouble. But when someone seems to demonstrate a great knowledge bordering on mystical, I have to ask questions.

These trucks will be using Alliance floatation tires designed for trucks. They do not travel long distances, and are mainly used in the harvest season. Tire wear will not be that much.
I have never seen the front chassis pulled off an EU truck. Perhaps the bumper, or the front axle if they wre used to pull the truck, but they are both not designed for pulling.

they are mostly used in china for heavy haulage , they are also making oil trucks, as well as paul

titan used to be maker of SLT trucks for MB now only for export markers, while euro 6 are built by mb in molsheim, titan still make some conversions for MB trucks like short SLT , they make chassis for Z8 Z6 and similar things,

    - two of these pulling 1300 tones , this is mercedes converted by titan with cooling and hooks, + different tires, for bigger tasks titan build trucks like blue one with 1000 ton
