Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

Maybe because they don't know better.
Give me a Volvo FH16 with the 16 liter 700 hp engine any day of the week.

 

Guess you missed my pic of the test truck being shipped back . Driver said it pulled good but glad to see it go .

To buy a hood or conventional ,you have no other option.
It is the only area that still makes them.

I would call them a mix.
Engines are to EU specs(they run the EURO emissions)
Cabs and gearboxes are NA.
Chassis.............i don't know.
And then they build them to Aussie specs.
Cabs are raised higher to fit bigger rads.(look under the door,they are higher on the chassis)

Why they need a conventional? Seems like they had all choices , and choose what fits their need the best.

 

Looks perhaps? These things look mighty impressive with all those huge thundering exhaust pipes, air inlet pipes and chrome air filters, and all kind of other optically impressive stuff. It doesn't actually do anything for the performance of course, but who cares.
