Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

    Ya a smoother flowing exhaust and intake system does nothing for performance. Guess every mechanical engineer for 100 years has been wrong.

    You just had to go there huh. Now we can look forward to a 100 page emotional arguement as to why European pine is better than north american timber.

    These trucks will be using 6 cylinder in-line engines, with one inlet manifold and one exhaust manifold. One exhaust manifold, so normally one exhaust pipe. But no, there's a branch to the other side of the truck for a second exhaust pipe. Useful from the perspective of the flow of exhaust gasses? No, just optics. The inlet pipes? same story.

    Not quite sure what that has to do with trucks. Well, in fact it does have to do with trucks. Small diameter trunks will pack more densely, which means more weight.
    These trees grow high up in the north, trees grow slower and are smaller there.

    If you would have listened carefully, you might have heard that these trucks cover long distances over highways to deliver their load. Then aerodynamic aspects are important.
