my english is not good enough to understand what do you mean with this.

but this uhn is probably most capable truck existing, things it can done are really amazing, in fact its chassis is used for dingo, i have driven new generation of this one on same spot, this is place where you drive trough 4ft of water and need to go out , it can flex with 30degrees

It's an insult about my kind of trucks....

Old school is slang for the old way of doing things.

And then adding on .... To stupid to learn makes it a insult...:)

    interesting crane,

in europe we use this, this is alowed in several countries , germany switzerland belgium....in germany it can be 27m long and even if crane folds behind cab you are not allowed to drive longer logs as there are laws about wheelbase and max overhang on front and rear

in my country , law dont allow such truck, it must be connected to trailer or otherwise it is oversize, also dimensions would require special permits....

there is one primitive version of this, rigid truck with longer overhang with short cab fitted with medium size crane ca 17mt, fitted with fifth wheel and 2 pair of stakes on 5th wheel, this truck pull dolly trailer that is steered by long overhang and adjustable drawbar , trailer also have fifth wheel or turntable with 2pair of stakes
you can load logs with 15-15.5m long , depending on crane and cab + in some countries 1 or even 1.5m extra law in my country is bit more strict so they dont allow this extra

some of those trucks can be converted to haul short logs as well, so you need to replace stacks with crane to other position ( front and back) , this setup is very popular in SLO

No offense here, but i just gotta say...I WOULD HATE TO DRIVE THOSE TRUCKS.

I dont know much about trucking over there, but what if you had to spend all week in the cab of that benze or volvo yall run. No room.

I like our studio bunks and ultra cabs here in America. Id be pissed living in one those little sleepers all the time

That's an old discussion. European tractors are build for European roads, and I don't mean highways. Many of those old roads pass through old towns and villages, with road plans that are exactly the same as 500 or more years ago. And no, we are not going to demolish many old buildings to allow for longer trucks. Let me give you an example. In mu home town they have just demolished a building that's quite young, about a 100 years old I guess. On the left side of that building another building was to undergo complete modernization. When they started to gut the building they found on a ceiling a magnificent painting dating from 1637. That's Europe, touch something and you will find history. We want to keep that.

With regard to cabs, they are a bit roomier then you might think:
