That's what I like about this discussion. First people complain the sleeper isn't big enough, then I show a cabover with a big sleeper, and then we get such a reply.

No, you got such a reply cause you are pushing your emotional opinion that this daf cabover is somehow superior to the trucks we have here. When in fact it is nothing but a modernized version of the flat floor cabovers we had here 30 years ago. The reason they stopped being popular here is there was no longer a need for them when our length laws were relaxed.

Plain and simple, euro trucks will never gain popularity here because we don't have a need for them when the options we have, have a much lower cost.

Judging from the replies I get, the emotions are more on the NA side.

do you have a photo of your truck, and can you write specs,

i am really interested , in eu lightest fuel tank specs are similar to this weight lightest imade isabout 12900-13000lbs , operators dont like this kind of trucks here, but in germany or other west countries you will see plenty of these, fuel is included in weight.

as for tires and physics, yes same tire can get much different grip on other trucks, even small things can change everything, move 5th wheel one hole forward or rear it is like different truck, wide tires on front makes different truck too.....

same tire on tractor is not same to ride as drawbar truck with trailer.

it is interesting to see how inferior tractor+semitrailer is offroad comparing to rigid+drawbar trailer ( full trailer) offroad longer wheelbase rigid have much worst traction than same truck short wheelbase it dig its front into ground,

I don't have a photo on this computer. 2007 W900 C15 18 speed, 46k rears, 14k steer, day cab with headache rack and chains, drop axle. 2 frame mounted tool boxes and it carried about 200 gallons of fuel.

Honestly, toss that goofy looking light bar on top of the cab, add some polished Alcoas all around and chrome out the grill, bumper and mirrors. I'd totally drive it then.

something like this would weight here 9000kg or 20000lbs , that can mean only one thing, this truck would not survive our conditions,

when i am talking about 12900 tractor , this means 7.7L engine 354hp, day cab, super single wheels on drive axle, 71gallon of fuel 8gallons of def, no spare wheel, aluminium 5th wheel, and other weight saving things ,

This company runs 11R22.5 on everything except dollies , those get wide based singles. Lo pro 22.5 are very common in the U.S. But the way these are geared , with 11Rs they are performing well , with great fuel mileage.

That truck scaled out at 24,300 pounds. Grossed up to 210k pounds and a lot of the time 130k pounds pulling double belly dumps.
