Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

I once asked some higher mangement Daf staff why not offer the COE's in the KW or Pete portfolio.
Their response was that marketshare was too low.
Just not enough numbers could be sold.

Spyder ,i guess you missed the post where i stated the while it was feaseble to import ,it would only be worth it if their was something to gain in respect to the loads one hauls.
Like Dirksen running 57' trailers in Cali or a carhauler like Kansas Transit.

Spyder i get that you look mostly at lenght off the sleeper.
It is in your dna to see it like that.
In Eu trucks the sleeper is not viewed or listed seperate.
The whole cab is looked at.
Doesn't mean the NA or EU way is better or worse, just different with advantages to both.

I think what they should do is produce a cab like I just showed (can't be difficult, just extending the cab is very simple), put a lot of chrome on it, put the Kenworth brand on the radiator, and drive around with it. See the reactions.

But, and you keep ignoring this, when the length limits were lifted, conventionals took off! We no longer needed 168" wheelbase in order to be legal. We could be legal with 250" and longer. Yes, your 2016 rides nicer than a mid 90s NA cabover, but our 2016 conventionals have all the new air ride cabs, etc. If you claim yours is smoother, then just put it on a conventional, and we're good. As long as length doesn't matter, a conventional wins, hands down!

Further, do you realize that 53' trailers are standard here? Why would we be concerned about having a short tractor, except those who run into 4 or 5 cities?

Gearing is to run speeds like in Cali.
    400 to 500hp is standard.
Bear in mind we run heavier.
    But at lower speeds.

Yes this one closely resembles a na truck. but what is the cost. When i said they cost too much you guys cried foul and claim they are only 80k $ but then post a medium duty non tractor as evidence. We need a link with a price on a truck that closely resembles what we use here before we can have a discussion on if it would a practical and viable option here.

Spyder don't mix up my posts with those off Caesar.

My post about the 80 000$ was to make it easy to compare it with Sdaniel's truck which he kindly posted.

Hey now, i didn't say you're trucks were junk. I said they cost to much vs what i can buy here. Talking lifetime cost of ownership, not just initial purchase price.

You mention sleeper length like I'm fixated on it. That isn't the case, it's just one of many components i spec to fit my operation. It ranks much lower on the list than many things. But it's on the list. Only a nitwit buys a truck solely based on the sleeper size.

You guys are limited in length for many reasons, i can appreciate that fact, no problem. But we don't have that problem here and bigger sleeper directly translates to better quality of life on the road.

Gotta remember, we can spend over a month in that sleeper before getting home. A 36 inch sleeper means i give up my table and seating area; my crockpot, my coffee pot, my electric griddle, my convection oven, and my 4 ft tall refridgerator and freezer. Plus enough storage for food and clothing for a month long tour. That's the difference between a 36" bunk and a 72" bunk.
