To start with, the website of a forum where companies show new trucks and trailers. It's in Dutch, but you can read the brand names and look at the pics.

Ok, I am not going through all those pages just to see some photos. I did go through about 8 pages of the DAF and they all look factory. A few have more lights up top but overall boring.

This is actually kind of cool looking. Don't really care for the chrome roll cage thing on the roof or the really low side skirts but it does have a certain appeal to it. f8e76d34fe92f1c3739f2ff03a56f833.jpg

Or truck industry is behind how? Only in ways that use European needs as a baseline. Things that flat out are not needed here. Why would our manufacturers invest in developing things that will never sell because there is no need for them here?

Well, there was one area that we are behind, and that's disc brakes. Without a doubt disc technology is ahead of s-cams.

I'm still not fully sold on disc brakes. In off highway applications anyways. Our medium duty trucks with juice brakes are lucky to see 10k km out of rotors off road because the abrasive sand and mud just eat them up. Even on 3/4 ton pickups they don't seem to last unless you wash the trucks constantly.

Another is selling airride trucks with no controls to lower or raise the suspension.
I have not used low gear on standing legs in 20y.

I have yet to see a truck without a dump valve on the suspension. I always thought it was standard equipment.

spyder7723 and Bean Jr. Thank this.
