there is no such problems, so far largest problems were NOx sensors on E6 trucks.

Only 4 lube points ! = designed to wear out! But if it last long enough to last 400k who cares right, you would not own it. Was 1/2 price at start, value drops like a brick . Value is going to reflect life left . Like I stated earlier , if they were vastly better , they would been here ! The company I work for alone would saved 400 million if they bought your trucks! Your trucks are not ruling in markets both share ! Haycarter's country men just stupid , back wards rednecks also? No they are expecting the truck they buy to last and preform . Again show as a truck two years old with 400k on the clock . And we expect it to last 8 more years.

Good point ! Our EPA 2010 and tier 6 were = , correct? Well we have had 2 reductions since then and a third starting in 3 weeks. Where is tier 7,8, and 9. Dirty , dirty trucks ! You should be ashamed ! When are you all going to step up ? Test results , by the state of NJ , shows the exhaust on mine to be cleaner the the air going into the intake. But like I stated , lower levels are coming ! So you do not have no room to talk ...you guys are three levels behind ! image.jpg And have fuel cell trucks coming down the pike ? Will it make the cut ?

yes, 4 points, putting ALC unit would be too expensive for 4 points , well i can see tons of trucks old 15-20years worked in environment you cant imagine ( mining trucks, heavy tippers and partially heavy log trucks), overloaded 80-90%, still without problem, in fact once when they would be exported outside to 3rd world countries their life would become even harder ( since they have even worst roads than you have) that profs there is no problem in this.

1 million miles is not problem for truck, even since our ( not west european roads) are bad, road infrastructure is bad so you climb hill up and go down several times, there are many trucks that work on roads you cant get more than 30mph average speed during day due to topography conditions

problem is financial part of running truck that long, you pay too much tax and you are forced to sell truck much earlier, this is reason for used truck market price.

currently prices for 2nd hand trucks is pretty low comparing to normal situation, reasons are war in siria and iraq (this reflect on prices primarily scania and partially on volvo-lot of them are exported to south america) and closed free zones in jordan(MB), other trucks mostly go in africa, daf mostly to west africa, renault mostly on north africa

as for 200k per year that is mostly make on reffers 2drivers, car carriers driver+ghost , fuel tankers in germany 3 drivers , livestock trucks 2drivers 140 with one .

Bingo! And there is your economic model. Get rid of the truck long before it has reached it's useful life expectancy due to over-bearing tax burden, receive next to nothing in return on investment because of weak demand, and squander natural resources producing more trucks than needed just to fund your "green" government, who is probably doing more harm to the environment than good, but they feel good. And as you stated, that horribly dirty truck is still spewing it's noxious fumes, just in somebody else's back yard. Imagine how good of fuel mileage those same trucks could get without the emission crap, and how much less oil would need to be produced, and how many less oil support vehicles and machinery would be required just to compensate for the fuel and energy used to produce and maintain the emissions quota. I hope your revenue makes up for your disposable trucks.

Heck, why have any grease fittings, or change the oil for that matter. Your going to get rid of it before it craps out on you in 300,000 miles. Many of our big fleets have the same mentality in regard to turnover of trucks. They want to be done with them before they are off warranty and the fleet has to start paying for all this emission B.S.

Rant over - I apologize. I just know from my own business experience how much this stuff has cost me.

I don't think Volkswagen is going to use or further develop Scania gearboxes in future, I think they will use Traxon, and DAF and Iveco will do so too. With the modular design of the Traxon, ZF has a solution for every kind of truck. And now they are offering a torque converter as well for the Traxon, that means they are going after Allison's market share as well.

Not true scania is part of vw, zf not so why would you buy 3rd part components insteading of using your own which make you more profit. what would you do with workers?

Also there is statement of vw that say scania will make 13L and 16 motors and big gearboxes , man small 5-9L and small gearboxes
