For trucks 80km/h (50 mph), the limiter will allow about 90km/h (56 mph). Buses can go up to 100km/h (62 mph). If you remove the limiter, they can go up to 140 km/h (86 mph) or even more. It will ruin your truck since it can only be done by disconnecting several sensors. The British police once showed this on the highway with a confiscated truck. That is what can happen, your truck will be confiscated. The police is also very strict with working hours, go over it and you will pay a very hefty fine.

I believe you, no problem. But it's just like with the VW Beetle. There were pre-war versions, and then there was the last version that was build in Mexico. They didn't share anything, no part was the same. And still a Beetle is a Beetle.

Now, I'm not being snarky here, but do you suppose that the flat faced cab over design, despite how aerodynamic they have tried to make them, just won't be efficient at our speeds (55mph to 80mph depending on the state)? And that that may be the biggest reason the design hasn't taken hold here?

You are both right and wrong.

What you both don't know is that somewhere after 2020 the flatface COE will die.
    By law.
Aerodynamics will be imposed by the EU to maximise MPG.
So they will become someting best described as a bubblenose.
I guess the Nicola is a possible example off how trucks will end up.

True, but it will be something like a 50cm (20 inch) bubble at the front, the Nikola is out of the question in EU.

It is not about hating, but that car wasn't even allowed in Europe when it was still in production. It was completely outdated. The Ford model T was also a brilliant design for its time, but I guess you don't drive it, and as far as I know Ford doesn't produce them any more. But you can ask them.

No, those flat faced cabs may look like they are not aerodynamic, but believe me, they have been shaped to be much more aerodynamic then they look. What is really bad for aerodynamics is mounting all kind of things at the outside of a truck, think of air filters, huge chrome chimneys, and that kind of stuff. The surface of the truck should be as clean as possible, the gap between the tractor and the trailer should be as small as possible, the trailer itself should have skirts and so on.
