Well I guess the sensible thing to do would be for the EU to relax their overall length laws a little....

Are you sure? They were not offered with big chrome air filters and two 7 feet chrome exhaust pipes.

You know @Caesar , you can take the jealousy attitude and shove it up your ###. Besides, all that chrome can be added. We don't always remain plain Jane stock.

73280 pounds is the main reason for cabovers. They are lighter than Conventional back in the day and are way easier to get a trailer into tight buildings built back in the 1920's that are still in use today for food, grocery etc. ALL US States have some form of 73280 pounds limit on their roads. SO Cabovers arise.

This driver spent way too many years in a cabover. I choose not to drive them at all period. ive done too much damage in them vs other cars over the years. Conventional is actually safer for me. And that would be what I go for. Europe or not. They wil just have to suck it up and deal with my long american nose sticking into their little postcard villages.

Perhaps this example shows where aerodynamics are taken more seriously, NA or EU. Two trucks, very similar, same cab, same manufacturer (Paccar):
