in europe , particularly in austria, germany, switzerland italy and norway.... it become popular to take some exotic axle configuration like 4x4 truck +steering tag axle or driven steering tag axle, for winter service and municipal works........in fact this become so popular that they make this configuration from factory instead of conversion like before....

those trucks are popular in winterservice, good turning radius, great payload-more salt, good weight distribution when empty, at you can release tag pressure to get extra weight on driven axles when loaded too, also add comfort and give same riding height.....

they are usually 3way tippers, 3way tippers+crane on front or detachable on rear, roll off tippers skip loaders and similar bodies....

but they are often used as a big unimogs, equipped with hydrostatic drive and strong working and power hydraulics they can do a some municipal works

snow blowing, mowing, tunnel washing, sweeper are example what they can do
of course they cant change unimog as they dont have front pto and they are not intended to change it but in some cases they can become really multi-talented especially when you need higher payload

so you need to detach tipper body from subframe, which remains on chassis, and put some other body, there is attachment for side mounted tool, snowplow or maybe mowing

sometimes they have cutted rear right corner of cab and it is glazed or they have RHD to have better view on tools

in case of hydrostatic you will be most probably not able to fit crane because of cooling for hydraulics especially when you have right attachemnt plate

Scania and MAN are very popular in this

Sorry, from the Railway Gazette of 2009:
Unless you think that subway trains travel at 200 km/h (124 mph).

European version (Dutch railways) of the same locomotive:

Cutting edge stuff 30 years ago... Flat floor cab over , like late 80s ? In cab blower hose , late 70s? Having to notch the bunk to have room for the seats , never! This in a truck they are marketing as a larger model .

I'll take a 40 year old KW dash over a modern plastic dash any day of the week. A truck should look, ride and feel like a truck. Its not a Cadillac lol.

Yep, nothing like a full VIT interior for a truck built in the 70s or 80s, I love the KW interiors from those eras.
