This truck is a 1982 NTT 3300, many years back DAF built these trucks for third world countries, they were not available in Europe. What was marketed as a 10 ton truck was build like a 20 ton truck, DAF knew that trucks are always overloaded in these countries.

Almost all car brands were cheating on emissions, European or Japanese, or Korean. Can't happen any more, instead of laboratory test the cars are now tested on a test track before they get their EU certification. Don't know about about the truck report, but I do know that trucks are cleaner then cars these days.

Yes test was made in germany by tv , many trucks had faked adblue , systems like http://www.ebay.com/itm/152315049111

    Faked temp sensors

    Half of east european trucks

This is why we have obd-c since 1.11.

With regard to the 12V / 24V discussion, it is a mystery to me why NA trucks went from 24V to 12V, and at the same time EU trucks went from 12V to 24V. Military equipment is all 24V, and for good reasons.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. The tendency is to go to 48V with Lithium-Ion batteries, and to use more electric motors. Think of the water pump, the oil pump, an electric motor to assist the turbo, and so on. Higher voltage instead of higher currents is much better for these applications. Doing these things with an electric motor saves fuel.
