No, that is not what I mean. The tractor has a total weight that is distributed over the front axle and the rear axle. The more of that total weight is on the drive axle, the more traction you have. With a European tractor without a trailer, most of the weight is on the front axle, leaving not to much weight on the rear axle, and thus low traction. To give you an example, take a DAF XF tractor with an MX-13 engine, without a trailer etc. The total weight is 16,435 lbs, the weight on the front axle is 11,721 lbs, and the weight on the drive axle is 4,714 lbs. With maximum load the total weight is 42,990 lbs, the weight on the front axle is 17,636 lbs, and the weight on the drive axle is 25,354 lbs.

My driveway at my house is like that, and i won't let estes back up in it when delivering. Really pisses the driver off, but hey a 4 inch slab is meant for cars, not a freaking loaded trailer. If they won't pay to replace the drive after cracking it im not letting them on it.

Anyway my wife dies a lot of our shopping online and gets bottled water by the pallet. I almost felt bad for him having to carry the cares of water up by hand till he got enough weight off the pallet to push it up the drive. I was in the front yard washing and folding my tarps up, he wasnt offering to help me so i wasnt offering to help him.

You must have either done a bang-up job of training this very inexperienced peddle driver, or the shipper of that bottled water has a pretty screwy contract with Estes.

If someone has a driveway that is both paved AND flat, I'll do what I can to work with somebody, within reason.

Otherwise, NO peddle driver I know worth his salt would do half of what you described. You'd be signing for that at the end of the driveway or it would go back on the truck.

Enjoy that white glove service while it lasts. The next one to take that route over might not be so accommodating.

well if you have truck with lets say 12000lbs on front axle and 5000lbs on rear axle and truck with 10000lbs on front axle and 5000lbs on rear axles first one must be worst in traction it is more weight to move

scania have 2airbag suspension especially in price sensitive markets and it is bit stiffer than their 4bag, in this case there are more parameters to take in account than weight on axle, when axle is well loaded this is not big difference but on empty it can make difference , i think in this case 6x2 with tag would be winner

used to have problems with pavement before it was concrete slab similar to yours 4inch and gravel underneath. under weight of trucks it cracked, grass start to grown between cracks, and it looked awful

this concrete is removed same as gravel, machines removed some ground underneath it to get to hard one that dont stinks, bring 7inch of milled concrete ,add geotex, add 12inch of railroad crushed rocks, fill that with 4-8mm crushed rock to fill gaps, use 10t roller for few hours, bring more material, wait 3months to let material it sit in its place, fill more of it,bring roller again, fill more , bring earth compactor, add 0mm sand, and put austrian concrete pavement 4inch thick, now you can do whatever you want to do, when you are turning overloaded truck on it will full steering it does not move under tires sideways

just read volvo stop sales of 16L engines in NA

interesting volvo is here one that brings lot of HP in their trucks

for example volvo always 60hp more than competition in their offers, while fleet trucks from other brands are 450 volvo offers 510, if other brand offer something like 510-540hp volvo would put 750 without too much thinking

livestock trucks from volvo are either 550 or 750, i have seen only 2 heavy haul volvo trucks that are not 750

for more demanding trucks scania would put 580hp (which is really strong engine comparing to papers, it is very close to old 620) , but 730 would get only few

all fridge trucks that run italy spain portugal or greece are 580....all heavy haulage, livestock

iveco dont go often above 500 , renault not above 480

    MB not often above 510

    daf 460 rarely 510
