Ya i know how to build a drive to hold the weight of a loaded truck. But at my house, in a residential area with a drive nor even long enough to get a trailer fully off the road? Not happening. They can get a power jack, use a dolly, unload it by hand or even refuse to deliver and the shipper can get send it on another carrier that understands what a residential delivery entails. Heck if the jerk off would of had a better attitude i would of grabbed my dolly and helped him.

Im more than happy to let them take it back. Another carrier can deliver it the next day or day after. If they don't want to do residential deliveries they shouldn't be taking residential delivery freight. One thing is certain tho, that freight bill isn't signed for until the product is in the garage.

i have it at home too as material was bough together, not too expensive considering it will last long, i like things that last,
it is blind street and my home last one, not possible to get with trailer inside, due to narrow intersection and one sharp bend in street, trailer was here last time in 19 november of 2000 i remember it like it was yesterday, it was heavy rain with strong wind
it took 30min to bring it and truck had to to attach trailer with its front to point trailer more precise into intersection and that bend

you are right about them, it is your right do request and chose way how they will bring it

Point being, off the truck is their responsibility IF liftgate service was paid for in advance. Anything beyond that is the consignee's responsibility. "Curbside" is all freight lines will hold themselves to.

Maybe for furniture delivery services, but not in the LTL world it's not. People can request a straight truck, but that's only to get down a narrow street.

Where do people get these ideas that common carriers are bound to do all this by anything other than their contracts with whomever is paying the freight charges?
