Did you notice that this Tatra does not have the central tube chassis? It seems to be based on the line of military trucks with a standard chassis that they also have.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

A nice video clip from the Austin Trains YouTube channel.
Austin is a high school kid from Bangor Pennsylvania. He puts his video camera up to catch the trains on the single track through Bangor, but he also puts the camera up next to one of the three main roads through Bangor, to catch the trucks. The truckers honk at him, and sometimes he gets a ride. It's all done with the open minded enthusiasm of a teenage kid, and that's why I like his channel. Plus of course, it's a great way to see what kind of trucks they uses in that area.
And by the way, why that crossing doesn't have gates is a mystery to me. In the Netherlands there are about 140 railway crossings without gates left. Sometimes it's a crossing to one farm or so. These crossings will get gates, or will be closed. A railway crossing without gates in the middle of a town with a population of over 5000 is ridiculous.
