Let's see, I showed you 5 axle tractors with 3 steering axles, and you wrote:
You obviously don't, what you see in the US are 4 axle tractors with 1 steering axle, nothing special. These 5 axle tractors can handle at least 40% more load than any US 4 axle truck, due to the extra axle and higher axle load.

    Then you wrote:
That's not true either. It may be true if you have a very long chassis due to the leverage effect of this long chassis.

I understand perfectly why short heavy European tractors have two or three steering axles, I didn't claim that one steering axle is sufficient, you did.

second steer axle is no problem and unless law dont limit it by some means( lower weight or similar if it steering like in chile) there should be no reason to have this axle fixed, rear axle is complicated,

trailer is really complicated all that hydraulics weights, costs, require maintanance, have its limits, but if you need it it is only way.

goldhofer, faymonville, scheuerle, kamag export trailers with north american specs , modular, dual lane, and flexible tele trailers , i guess those numbers are still moderate

dont think so, in NL this volvo have 10+8+9.5+9.5+8t =45t, scania 9+9+9.5+9.5+8 =45t that is 99.200 lbs, if i am informed right in usa 4axle tractor have 4x20k , than this is 1/4 more.
here you can have as much manufacturer offer + need to pay permit. have now 2x 4axl tractor with 110k

ok but how is possible that cars and trucks can travel at same speed, dont see logic, here no matter that trucks are really capable for safe ride, it is still big difference in speeds.

we have 90km/h on highway and 80 km/h off highway for trucks, cars 130 km/h on highway and 90km/h off highway,

on 130km/h add 10% for speed and 10% on tacho for tollerance so driving 156km/h = 97mph is OK in car.

but what speed for truck is best ballance, i mean fuel consumption, tire lifetime, bearings, safty VS. time

In the US some states have trucks limited to lower speeds than passenger cars or pickup trucks (usually 55 to 65 mph for safety reasons). Oddly enough they let buses/motor coaches run at higher speeds though.

I don't know if the normal weight restrictions apply to these kind of vehicles. After all, normal trucks in the Netherlands have a maximum weight of 50 tonnes, and really haevy transports can have weights of hundreds of tonnes. It wouldn't surprise me if these special tractors are allowed 12 tonnes per axle.

That's the same over here. Trucks have a legal speed limit of 80kmh, and are technically limited to 90kmh (56mph), and buses/coaches have a legal speed limit of 100kmh.

I know many missed Alpo, but now that he's back, and in full force, I find him more irritating and not that amusing.
