His comment was directed at your pure ignorance. You go on and on about your smooth air ride cabs vs rigid cabs because your are so ignorant and have obviously done no research into north American trucks or you would know we have had air ride cabs for over 30 freaking years.

Not ignorance my friend, arrogance! He probably thinks that we have yet to put air conditioning in class 8 trucks.

Ford introduced air ride cabs in 1979.Freightliner introduced the FLD in 1989, with air ride cab. White introduced an integral sleeper in 1980. Peterbilt introduced the unibilt sleeper in 1994, which is a removable sleeper mounted to cab whiich was, you guessed, air ride. Kenworth introduced the aerocab in 1993, also air ride. As far as I am aware, virtually every class 8 truck has air ride cabs. So now, tell me why a short cabover, riding right over the front axle, tell me how that will be smoother than a ten foot longer truck, with the cab moved back 6 feet. You can't because it doesn't! And seeing as we can use longer wheelbase tractors here, we'll stick with what is better for us.

It is a simple rule in mechanics, the more moving pieces, the more components that run the risk of mechanical failure. Except for flat tires, bicycles are indestructible, and those with coaster brakes are even more so. That complex steering mechanism that you showed has virtually ZERO applications here! Why should we use a system that has more parts that can fail, when there is no need for such a thing?

Get over your arrogance. What is made in Europe is made there because it works there. What is made here is what works here.

Fact that EVERYTHING you say is wrong . We have had air ride cabs since the early 80s . But you speak with such authority , about topics you know zero about.

I believe the euro cabs are air ride all around (4 point) . Like the old ford 9000 cabover. Not just the back like ours.

    It is 4 point,

Options are 2point spring 4 point springs and 4 point air

2 point steel could be used for small day cabs only, you can find them on cheap fleet construction trucks, trucks that have to be cheap, like fire trucks etc., it provide very rough ride

4 point steel could be used on normal spec day cabs , fleet trucks etc.

4 point air is used in long distance trucks and better equipped days cabs.

In my opinion full spring is better than rear air.springs are progressive and durable. If you use air on truck that is used offroad this might be problem for maintanance

The old Ford 4 point air ride cabs made people sea sick. That and about a foot higher seating position then every other truck.

The main reason US drivers don't like, not hate , euro trucks is they're butt ugly , and remind us older drivers of cab overs , they too were rejected by the industry .
That's why cab overs no longer are made as new trucks here, and why there is no interest in your new and improved hideous cabovers
