There are much smaller sleepers on sale in the US, right? And if you want to extend the cab a bit more, why not?

Because people feel they should be able to make rules/laws that fit their needs. Not answer to Ceasar.

Doesn't change anything from the fact that they can overheat and loose braking power. Drum brakes are obsolete, face it. You will find disk brakes on cars, trucks, trains and aircraft. Have you ever seen the red hot glowing disk brakes of a Formula 1 racing car? In fact disk brakes brake better when they are hot.

    Again, just opinions, no facts.

You can get a day cab if you wish. You can get a 24 inch sleeper day cab. Has Windows in the back just like the day cabs . For the oops , got stuck out once or twice a year type of app. But the Mega carriers spec at least 70 inch sleepers.
What we have here works here, what you have there works there. Remind you I owned several Mercedes trucks in the past. How many Petes, KW , or Freightliners have you owned. Have worked with Volvo with R and D . So you think we don't had the tech? Don't need or don't want most of it. The other poster pointed out Eu drivers put FAR less miles a year on avg. what may last there 5 years may not make it 2 to 3 years.

No, pure nitrogen is much better.

Who started moaning about the sleeper size again? When I show you that there is no reason why an EU can can';t be made bigger to accommodate for a bigger sleeper area, you finally revert to the "what works there" argument

    which type?

Those trucks can't be used here, they would get stuck. EU trucks can be used in NA, that is the difference. US trucks are used as big boy's toys here, or for some promotional use.

Really? VW, Volvo and DAF have truck factories in South America. How long do you think a NA tractor would last on the unpaved jungle roads of Brazil?

Oh christ. Do you just disagree for argument's sake? Air is already 78% nitrogen and nitrogen filling stations are ######## snakeoil.
