I'm not surprised it's not a comfortable ride , what must that single drive axel weight rating be ?
That front axel looks like a heavy haul setup , I guess with the fifth wheel so far up it really loads the front axel as well
Probably rides like a bucking bronco
Not a fair comparison to our trucks but at least it looks like a classic

Yes, you're right of course. Getting stuck with such a beautiful truck must be wonderful. You seem to think that those "stupid nanny state rules" are there just to make the lives of drivers miserable. They are there to make sure the trucks can get at as many places as possible. Your trucks would get stuck at the very first roundabout. That is why we have steering trailers etc. Our cities and many of our roads are hundreds of years old, some times even 2000 years or more. In some of the very old cities you can't even get with a normal car or a van, only with very small vans, some times with three wheeler vans.

It has nothing to do with "out of control" regulation, just with common sense.

One rear axle, and load on the front axle as well. Remarkable, but that is the standard Euro tractor set up.

That's just excuses , there must be drivers with regular routes that don't go down old goat paths , but they have no choice either , it's one size fits all through regulation.
I have friends in Sweden who would love to have one of our big classics , at least they are intellectually honest about it

Bean Jr. and spyder7723 Thank this.

I assume these trucks came straight form the US, incl. all the equipment. When UPS started here, they also used US vans / light trucks. They have been replace by Mercedes by now.

These are not "goat paths", but regular secondary roads connecting villages etc. Furthermore most drivers are employed, no company would buy your trucks.

he is comparing ride comfort comparing to our trucks, cabover which by some statements few pages ago should ride worst due to shorter wheelbase and cab over axle, our legal weight is 25350lbs on single drive axle and 39700 gvw for 2axle.
