Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

i think this is largest amount of kenworth trucks in europe on photo.
there were all kind of trucks from water tank fuel tanks, container trucks, tractor with lowloader trailers, tippers, trucks that have offices..... in 2002 they bring some 7axle live floor trailers for asphalt but they soon realised this dont work here. also frameless tipper trailers...they break few of them

Few pictures of conventionals, custom built in Europe because truck manufacturers don't produce them.
Apparently not everybody wants a cabover......

I like conventionals. But looking at these rigs with a American Eye makes for a interesting thought process in my head as I examine these rigs.

Leaving aside my personal.. er.. feelings.. if you gots the horses say 700 or greater, I would have a go at these things.

But keep in mind we have had some European trucks come here to try our roads and find that they are or were simply inadequate to battle and frankly needed a bit more... *Searches for words... muscle for our hills and a adequately fat ### for the bad roads...

Some of those trucks have similar wheelbase dimensions as American trucks , I'll bet they are highly sought after . That black one on the top row with dual fuel tanks on right side , it would fit right in around here

Scania had these trucks, but the demand was so low, they stopped producing them. It is possible to get an Iveco truck like this, there is a company that can modify trucks like that.

The trucks you see on these pictures are more or less hand made. You can buy Kenworth trucks in Europe, I posted the web site of the Dutch dealer a short while ago:

    Bakker Bedrijfswagens Nederland | Welkom

Scroll down that page, and you will see the only Kenworth they have delivered recently, among 136 DAF trucks.

Yes but South American Volvo's, DAF's, Mercedes or Scania's or built to very different specifications, specifically for what the market needs or wants. Same as US Volvo's are built to North American market requirements.
DAF/Paccar produce trucks for African market, again very different from Euro spec.

As has been said many times before in this thread, different market requirements result in different trucks. Euro-spec high-tech trucks are not better for all the different markets and applications worldwide. Not for South America, not for Australia, and apparently not for North America either.

In the same way as the demand for (euro) cabovers is so low in North America, that no manufacturer is selling them.

Scania and Volvo both have engines with more than 700HP. Volvo uses a 16 litre 6 in-line engine for that, and that engine block (with less HP) has been withdrawn from the NA market.

Apparently you don't know that EU trucks have to pass the Alps too, and those are a bit higher then your hills.
