The difference is that those Scania's can't be used with full size trailers, so their use is very limited by definition. just as with US type tractors, that is a fact.

A Euro truck can be used in the US, even modified for big sleeper, no problem. What kind of arguments are against them? They're ugly, they can't do the job (based on??), they will fall apart (based on??), they will frequently break down (based on??), they are very uncomfortable (based on??) and so on. Just opinions based on prejudices, no facts.

They can't do any of those jobs any more effectively or efficiently than what we use here already.

But the big sleeper is not available from the factory. Truck would be to heavy, certainly with a modified big sleeper, 24 Volt electrical system, etc.
If you modify a US truck to suit the european market (place the cab over the engine, single axle, etc) it can be done as well.

With all the modifications needed to make the european truck suit the NA market, yes it can be done, but it would mean building a truck specifically for the NA market......

And isn't that exactly what Paccar/Daimler/Volvo and the others or doing now?
Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, Volvo VNL, and all the others.

You have no clue what you're talking about :violent1:

The highest paved road in Europe is in Spain Pico Veleta, I was there many years ago.
That's about the elevation of Vail Pass or Eisenhower Tunnel.

Forget all the mountain passes in Europe where you can drive with a truck.
These are all little hills compared to the mountain passes here in the States.
But what can you expect from a Dutch knowing about mountains :laughing8:

Are LED head lights cutting edge? I worked with Freightliner and Truck Lite , to develop the worlds first LED head lights for heavy trucks. You truly are a FOOL if you think we do not have the same tech. Oh I forgot Vovlo would keep Volvo's tech from its self! And Paccar engineers forget everything when ever they get on a plane.
