Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

Long haulage trucks had front 5inch back 7inch. Heavy duty rigid trucks had front 7 rear 8. In my knowelage only switzerland had this 5/7inch breaks because tthey had narrow trucks 90inch wide, so there was no space for brakesx1Heavy Thanks this. -
I lived in fear that I would hire on somewhere and be assigned one on bad road. -

The big sleeper is not available now on EU trucks, that is true. But how difficult would it be to make one for the NA market? You saw the photograph of the handmade XXF, so let's take the DAF XF as an example. Standard there are three cabs available, the day cab, the space cab and the super space cab. Which is the difference in components between the three cabs?
front panel - the same for all cabs
rear panel - the same for all cabs
doors - the same for all cabs.
side panels - one set for the day cab, and one set for the sleeper cabs
floor panel - one for the day cab, one for the sleeper cabs
roofs - three different roofs
The cabs all share the most complicated parts, the front and the doors. Making a NA sleeper cab would require four new panels, a floor panel, two side panels, and a roof panel. Relatively easy. The chassis has to be a bit longer as well of course, but that is easy as well. The company that made the XXF proofed how easy such an adaptation is. The 24V system doens't have to be a problem either. Making 12V connections for the trailer is relatively easy as well. In future this problem will disappear when we change to 48V on cars and trucks.
Modifying a US truck for Europe would be a much bigger task. Designing a completely new cab (or a set of cabs), using a heavy duty front axle, and mounting it further backwards on the chassis. The single axle will not be a problem if the presently produced axles are strong enough for the higher axle loads in Europe. That is actually almost designing a completely new truck.
I'm not quite sure which components are shared between the EU and NA branches of truck companies. EU truck manufacturers produce more components themselves, a DAF truck will have a DAF (PACCAR) engine, DAF axles and a DAF suspension. A Kenworth truck can have a PACCAR or a Cummins engine, several makes of axles, several makes of suspension. -
The second picture is of a Mercedes Neue Generation. That truck went out of production in 1988.
So your experiences are with trucks that were build 30 to 40 years ago. What bearing does that have with modern trucks please?
