By the way, winter tyres are obligatory in Germany in winter time.

Can most agree that in theory each 1 mph increase in speed results in a 0.1 decrease in fuel mileage? So let's reflect . Increasing the avg Euro truck to match our 65 avg speed , gets your trucks down to 7mpg , so no advantage there. Every trailer here would most likely have to be replaced or heavily modified , so no advantage there. The cost of replacing every truck here, no advantage there. Most of the drive line are exchangeable already , no advantage there. Throwing away all history, no advantage there. Only advantage , making Ceasar happy. So why in the world would we want to make a change.
That said the flip is 100 % true also. So what is this the tenth time ... What we have works here, what you have there works there.Oxbow and spyder7723 Thank this. -
On a more serious note, you would not see such Volvo in Europe. In Europe it would have two steering axles at the front and a tandem at the rear, or one steering axle at the front, one steering axle plus a tandem at the rear, ot two steering axles at the front and a tridem at the rear. -
Oxbow and spyder7723 Thank this.
