    https://www.nhvr.gov.au/files/201607-0116-mass-and-dimension-limits.pdf

Heavy haulage weights are subject to different Rules & subject to Specific permits for each Journey.
Details of which I'm quite unfamiliar with..

You shut them of about late April when you no longer need heat on thouht excursions north. They stay shut till the durst trip north the following winter and you pull over to open the hood and turn them back open only to find they are rusted up from a high humidity climate for 7 or 8 months. It took it happening a few times before i finally got it in my head to open them a few times over the summer so the don't rust up.

I used to keep mine closed in the summer. Keeping them open is the only that keeps the coil from freezing up.

I learn from that document that it is 6.7 tonne on the front axle (tyre 375mm wide or more), and 20 tonne on the tridem, so in total 26.7 tonne.

In the Netherlands it would be 10 tonne on the steering axle, and 27 tonne on the tridem, so in total 37 tonne. If the steering axle also is a drive axle, then it would be 11.5 tonne + 27 tonne = 38.5 tonne.

Changed mine to ball valves when I did my motor. No longer a problem. Gate valves suck.
