Yes, sure, with additional tuning you can get much more power, but what are the consequences for the durability etc. DAF tested the design of the MX-13 by racing a 1500HP version of it. I don't think you would like to have such a version in your truck.

 

Comparing a tweaked out 13 liter to a 18 liter

 

Its easy to make big power in diesel engines. I know a couple guys with 700hp Cummins engines in their pickups. Yes they tow a 14,000lb trailer and drive the truck daily too.

 

At least he did not post about their "great " truck like he did much earlier , the one with the CAT in it. .

 

this v12 engine in marine version offer 1900hp in marine app., 1000 in truck sounds good

 

MB with v10 engine, 1971/74, this was last model with this cab dating from 1964.

 

That truck needs wheelie bars on the front , I'd be worried about hitting the brakes , bobtailin

 

something like this, but look at chassis there is no 5th wheel but turntable ring, this means it is not intended to use without trailer

look at rear end of chassis, there is transfer case and axle is turn upside down so driveshaft enter into axle from back

 

I saw the earlier cat 3412 post , I think that was a oz truck , but here's a 3412 in the good old USA , can spec up to 1400 hp and 3000 tq
