No of course not. Germany is the nr. 1 steel producer in the EU, and mainly produces high quality steel. Germany has a car industry (for example), and most cars are made of steel.

    So was the slinky .

IF it would have happened as you suggested, to ensure that there was sufficient electricity. But it didn't. Instead of polluting more as you claimed, it went the other way.

Do you or do you not burn dirty coal? You do. Sure its a tiny fraction less than you burnt in prior years but you still choose to burn large amounts of dirty coal. Why? Because it is cheaper than buying clean coal.

So just how many tons of dirty coal do you burn? That's a question you have chosen to ignore because you know the answer will not fit in with your propaganda driven message.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

You haven't got a clue what you are talking about. The Germans are investing in the infrastructure for renewable energy, that is why the price has doubled. Contrary to coal, gas, oil etc. you don't have to pay for the wind and the sun, so once the infrastructure is there, the price of electricity will drop dramatically. Many private persons are also investing in solar panels. After 5 or 10 years, the panels have paid for themselves, and they are making a profit by supplying electricity instead of consuming electricity. The prediction is that energy will be very cheap in the future. In other words capex versus opex. Capex is rising now, and the result is that opex will drop dramatically in the near future. The day that Germany ran on 100% renewable energy, the price per kWh was € 0,00
