Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

I think that the point was; what happens when driving on a two lane highway at highway speeds on dry fluffy snow, you pass another truck going the opposite direction, and a big cloud of dry dusty snow blows up. Does the system go into emergency braking mode?

 

Ya that's one tech i don't want. But i also never put myself in a situation that could require an emergency full power brake. If im in a residential zone i slow the heck down and am constantly scanning the sides of the road looking for children that may dart out into traffic.

About that specific video. I don't understand how that could even happen. Here traffic must stop for a school bus, that is loading and unloading. The bus has both stop lights and stop signs but right on to it. and the school bus driver won't allow the children off the bus until oncoming traffic has stopped. And won't turn off the stop lights and sign until after the kids have crossed the street.

 

No, of course not. It limits the length of the trailer, so it's only possible to use a tractor with such a cab if you're sure you will always pull shorter trailers.

Don't know where this was, but often children use normal public transport, not specific school buses over here.

 

Yes this was purpouse of it make it exclusive, some of those trucks are used only rarely, most of them still value like normal brand new tractor even after 13-14years.

Not it wont you have different versions of those systems some are using radars just to discover metal objects, some ultrasound , they incorporate thst with vision. There are two obligatory levels of that. And systems that are above of this requiered levels. Law dont require system to look at people only at metal.
System will measure speeds compard them use wide angle singnals etc.
About your curve question if you arehave approaching sharp curve and you are driving relativly fast system might alert you about metal pole of electricity or street light but it wont brake as you are still too far of hitting it. as you came closer system will recognize that you are turning (it recognize it as you will going to avoid it by turning wheel and nothing happens. This is only error that i have experienced with this system
