You have to remember the way people across the pond are taught, to them we are all universal people that think alike. Correct me if im wrong but Aussies dont complain, the Swedish people with their noses dont complain, the only people that poke and suggest what our trucks should have are the Europeans that are only in a cabover country mainly.

Aussie build their own versions off N A trucks which have very different specs compared to a USA or Mexican build truck.

Lets not forget that a large number off "USA" trucks are either build in Mexico or have a large number off parts from Mexico.

@Deming,why do you find the need to be offensive to 98989?
2 can play that game:who owns the biggest part off the truckmarket in the USA?:biggrin_25522:
    OMG ,it is those Europeans.:biggrin_2555:

I never said ABS or EBD is bad. I said for the reality of US market it is too expensive to pay extra money for the half-done technology AND especially its american implementation. For example DEF technology is known in Europe for more than 20 years. Well, if european companies own vast majority of US manufacturers why its so difficult for them to implement it smoothly, quickly and cheaply?

Doesn't matter who own the company. Does matter what result is in the end of production line. And what I see from volvo is not impressive at all. My truck stood 5 days on -10C. When I come to pick it from parking lot half of gauges didn't work - data link failure. So where are all this advantages from so called european technology? And why do I need EBD if they cant do regular dashboard?!

I was refering to the truck drivers themselves, not the parts, the people that have the biggest opinion of whats good for the USA are the people that have never driven a standard NON COE, most of them are not allowed to drive what we drive and drive the type of enviroment. The Aussies have KW, Petes and all that other stuff. As for owning a part of the market over here. You might own a portion of the market but you dont build them.
You can build a different truck and if its a kenworth its a kenworth.

Ya, might want to lighten up with the 3rd world junk..... Have you looked around some parts of the USA lately ?

The US truck manufacturing divisions will only incorporate the euro goodies if their mandated to.....

While i never drove a european trk, i did see alot of them while i was in europe in the military. Sorry i would not want to drive one. I like my conventionals and big sleeper. While i see the need for them over there tight manuverability is a must. But here with the wide open spaces and 80 mph speed limits. And they are just plain ugly and sorry i have to agree volvo's are junk i bought one new and that piece of **** about broke me, an electrical nightmare from day one. After 2 years the plastic rattled so much almost needed earplugs. Sorry wasn't impressed they might be built better in europe but not here. While the ride quality was ok. If you liked bucking and swaying like a ship on a rough sea in a side wind. No thx!. Learned my lesson and went back to a paccar truck.

Yep. They are strictly limited with only small "face" area to make some design effort. And we can see all these "alien" design. But the core problem remains the same: tight and short cabovers. ;)

Although euros can't match US condo style sleepers they are far more roomy than classic style US conventionals, they are taller, wider and although shorter have far more room to move about inside, when I started driving in Canada I couldn't believe how tiny they were inside, I'm over 6ft and moving around inside something like a 379 is very tight for me, most European drivers would hate the driver station, ceiling is just above your head, passenger seat is right beside you , everything is very cluttered, I like to be able to stand up from the drivers seat and walk across the cab if I wish without clambering over seats and a big clumsy gear lever, most US drivers compare the size of a euro cabover with a US one when in fact euro trucks are much larger. Cabs are 8ft tall inside and 8ft wide, bunk is generally 3ft wide and plenty of room to stand up, get dressed and move around unlike the regular mix of pete, kw and western star I normally drive

US volvos have very few components in common with their euro cousins, quality is just not the same! Also euro emissions crap is much simpler and more reliable.

As for our friend from the "4th world country" that's #### ignorant ! but you should realize that when guys go to work in their 4th world euro trucks they are still driving more modern, safer, more comfortable , more fuel efficient , easier to drive and more reliable trucks than anything I've seen in NA

    Schwinder Thanks this.
