here many truckers turn their work to ex ussr countries because money is much better and there is no so strict rules , in west if you do something wrong you get several thousands of fine , on east just few euros for bribe
and nobody complain that much ,many say worst roads are in georgia, some serbians even use dc13 egr engines here i think only few of egr euro5 go in russia but they dont go that often easter than čeljabinska oblast , very rarely in krasnojarsk or novosibirsk , many guys drive for ulan baatar in mongolia but with scr trucks only

It's foregin trucks from Poland, Rumania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and so on with drivers that are payed 500-800 a month in salary (less than I make in a week) and this is the first time in months they are allowed to go home by there greedy bosses. They drive National transports in Denmark (but it's the same in the hole west Europe) Some are payed so small amounts of money + diesel has to come out of there own pockets. This means it has become a big problem with diesel robbery, gassing the driver to sleep and then take his diesel....

here driver who drive to international would earn about 1600 before 5years this was better but as we are 5years already in recession before in largest company here(600trucks) driver would earn between 1600-2000 even doing national transport , but they don´t longer exist , this create lot of unemployed drivers on market and salaries become to go down. as much i know non of croatian company do work somewhere like trucks from video , before few years there was one company had 5x white r420 type2 topline they were working for dsv but as we were not in eu this was not legal because of permits and when they get caught they stop this and sold trucks , i can see now more forgein trucks here as they are cheaper here we have lot of expenses , registration is 4000 there is lot of different things to pay for example we pay radio 11 per month/truck , than you need to pay company which collects your tacho sheets 16 per month/truck we have 250 of this things per year , tax is here 25% and after tax we pay another tax it is 30-48% depending on your income we pay 35%, each worker cost you almost double than salary ( for pension health insurance and different things-once when he get in retirement it will be just funny) my country is not capable to be normal so they dont know how to fix lack of money but they take from us , they steal a lot and they have huge bureaucracy , they dont know what to do with those people , if they fire them there would be too many unemployed , there are state owned companies which have 3times more employers than they need they dont work anything on job but drink
i dont know many long distance drivers as we are not in this , but from construction company we worked for (they have 150+ tippers big machines....) two drivers i know went to drive to italian company , they drive same truck they are month on road and each get 2000,
i found job in germany for one of them in 4/2012 ( when we were not in eu) at one irish guy in hamburg who have plant for making electricity of waste and bio materials , he was collecting waste with vacuum tank salary was 1600+food and apartment , he return after month in his old company
when we were in yugoslavia we had law which allowed you to have only one truck, this include machines you could not have truck and excavator , this was great thing it was protecting you, so nobody was interested in cutting prices because there was enough job for anybody and since you could not chase more work for second truck everybody was relaxed , it was rule if there is not 1000DEM per day of clean money they would not work , also my father did not want to work after all saints day, and before easter
only state owned companies were allowed to have more trucks , largest was in bosnia had 2500 trucks
also there was no big loans you would buy truck with cash not on loan like today , this today created that everyone is reducing prices just to have enough job to pay its leasing -working more and for less money
prices back than were so great that nobody cared how much truck use of fuel and nobody was interested to find back loads or something like this , back then truck driver was very well respect in society,not like today, wherever they came they were very preferred , now many restaurants don´t allow trucks on their parkings because they stop only for a coffee or only to sleep ....before truck driver could have all waitress and generally womens were like drivers now everybody know you are poverty , my father was never sleeping in cab but in hotel and eat in restaurant he had enough money to drive brand new bmw´s and mercedes trucks (in YU you would pay another amount of value to country for import he did not want to have domestic build mercedes despite it was 75% cheaper)
also before it was popular to smell on diesel because who smell on diesel that one have money , i know some guys who would spread on diesel on hands when they get in bar or restaurant to show who they are -one of our drivers did this too much on 300L spend by engine he would take another 100L for himself but fuel was back than 1DEM/L so this was not so important and nobody could work that much as him
transport is in my family since 1958 , and this now make no sense to stay longer in this , my brother get engaged yesterday and he think he would withdrawn from this soon, my father will go in retirement in 2016 and i dont have plans to do this in future.
yesterday it was brother of my father here and they were talking , when they are talking about trucks it is like of 338 was so great i still remember how it goes ,and now start talk about his cousin 334 and other guys 329, than he asks me what is now allowed length 18.5m?and why did they stop conventional truck , he say i remember in 1962 it was 22.5m
for them everything ends when mercedes stop production of ng/sk they refuse to use any modern technologies as this reminds them for better times , ,at age of 72 he drive 1997 3538, he say 4143 is weaker i can eat it(he still dont know for name actros), my father get wondered when he saw my neighbour have latest actros he had no idea that this is already 4th generation he asks me is this something new? (he want to drive same truck model from 1976-2006)
if you ask me owner of this 112 was last real truck driver, he was stoping in many bars to drink and eat roasted lamb, he was talking to drivers of that company with 600trucks that they are dogs they eat from cans , his trips would last twice more than normal because he was often stoping in bars i can remember his truck in front of all good places
but he get in jail in 2005 because he get drunk and kidnapped female singer from bar and when owner from bar tried to stop him he took ak47 and shoot him 3bullets hit him -at that time driver says other guy would not be angry becasue they are friends

One of my biggest mistake was buying freightliner mid roof 48" century.
my drivers got into dog fight over who drive it, no longer volvo fh12 or actros is enough for them anymore.
speaking of dim. It is about 8 meter long.
A Single axle day cap columbia is the same size as EU truck which is about 6.5 m
A tandem axle. Day cap is nearly 30 cm longer .
If we do the math, a trailer of 13.6 meter +8 meter truck is still legal in most places out of N.America(under 23m)combined length, as a matter of fact u can have a 15 m trailer in most cases since king bin is centered over 1.8 m from the end of truck endLast edited: Dec 30, 2013
