Here there some smaller engines got pumps for winterservice, or maybe engine driven refrigirator compresdor for body. Concrete mixer and snowplow got pto at back.
But live pto is like 8-10inch long weight about 250lbs it is serious pto comes in between engine flywheel and gearbox. It includes damping mechanism too.
There is version when truck is stationary and version which can be used when driving, for example airport fire crash tenders
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

98989 asked me what kind of snow ploughs are sold in the Netherlands. I foun a company that apparently is selling most of this equipment, and they have a PDF about this. In Dutch of course, but you can find the brands. The width of the ploughs ranges from 7 feet to 33 feet (combined front and side ploughs).

I drove a two-axle version many years ago scouting drilling sites in NE BC (Helmet) during spring break-up. Just a really big buggy; no deck and it had the motor in the back half, cab in the front and articulated. Go anywhere... so long as you're not in a hurry. The most fun an 11-year-old can possibly have.
