I would hate to do a blindside 90 degree back with that thing. I have to do that quite a bit going in and out of rail yards and that trailer would not be good for going in and out railyards and conventional trailers do get put on trains often in North America.

Your also forgetting another reason cabovers aren't widely used in the U.S. is because they aren't aerodynamic. Look at how much money truck load companies have spent in the last couple of years adding side skirts to trailers, the fins on the back of trailer doors, etc. They are trying to increase there miles per gallons to cut down on there fuel costs. Trucks going forward are going to look more like this http://www.airflowtruck.com/Press_Releases.html

i would say 24t since almost all trailers have 1310mm in between axles, and most of europe have such laws,

yes but it is so easy that most people even dont know for it , and many dont respect it , i notice only UK&IR and SWE use 1m 5t law in practice

i would say , bad traction, there is often no contact between tire and surface , as you have small axle articulation , i think having 6x4 and additional lift axle would be better for traction

No problem, euro mirrors are a lot better than us mirrors because the glass is slightly curved and have proper trailer mirrors instead of bubble mirrors

Not true, a modern Coe is more aerodynamic, even a euro cabover is more aerodynamic than the conventional version even though it's the same cab , old us coe's would have been bricks alright, square cabs, low roofline and a long distance back to the trailer

This particular trailer doesn't seem to have a steering axle. Many do, and with such a configuration such a manoeuvre is quite easy and is performed very often in European cities.

You don't need steer axles really unless it's shop deliveries in city centers , even with those short Dutch delivery trailers a non steer version is more manoeuvrable than a straight truck, a us trailer is very easy reverse, sure u need more room but there's no overhangs either

italian drawbar combinations are very interesting to me

they use 6x2 trucks with steerable tag axle with short body about 6.2m and 3axle drawbar trailers(full trailers) with selfsteer axle on rear, body 7.5-8.2m , they are very ugly because they often use aftermarket tag axles, have strange wheelbase, and trailers have both single and twin tires (1st and 2nd axle with twin , last with single)

but they can turn round in place-no other configuration can turn in such small space especially with 35t of steel ,although they are more used on south i see them often in steel works on north ,newer configurations are more with 3+2 layout and trailers have long wheelbase and cut when turning
