Until I see a real study saying otherwise I highly doubt this. I have a hard time swallowing the idea a conventional Mercedes cabover is more aerodynamic then a Freightliner Cascadia Evolution.

but truck is shorter, i think this ratio of truck and trailer wheelbase , and this 5th position is very good for reversing, problem is when you have shorter trailer like cement silo or tipper

hm somewhere in late 70s when scania grpt program(2series) was in development, and they test cabs in air tunnel, they found out conventional have more air resistance than cabover, because there is more direction changes of air , those trucks use same base of cab, only conventional is little bit lower on chassis) , and it have V shape hood

so comparing same cab coe vin

but since actros cab is short, and there was no space to make it narrow on front, and low roof on front , actros cab is full width, and height (except stramspace-it is lower on front) so maybe cascadia is better but in comparable cabs coe win

That is what I mean. I highly doubt a Mercedes Benz Astros is more aerodynamic then a freightliner cascadia evolution. That fuel economy is one of the reasons why you don't see the cab over design commonly in NA anymore.

Shorter trailer actually just means it cuts quicker. Most city drivers in NA use a pup/s trailer anyway. If using a shorter trailer is a problem with the multiple steer cab overs in Europe then they just lost whatever advantages they may have offered for city driving.

i dont mean short cabover, if fl make cabover cascadia it should be more aerodynamic than cascadia

We could do the same thing with Peterbuilt, International, etc. as well.

    cowboy_tech Thanks this.

you say that cascadia is more aero than actros, i say maybe as we dont know

but in case if FL make cab over with same cab base as cascadia , it would be more aerodinamic than cascadia
