Thats what I thought, I got to go through the KW plant in chililcothee when I put in a jobs app there, needless to say I was in awe with the way they do somethings. The only things that arent built on site is the drive line parts, Im not sure where the eaton parts come from but the engines are still built in the states.

Hah! I saw eaton 16 st transmissin made in France! and I see Mercedes engines on Columbias made in Brazil, and Mercedes Axor made in Turkey!

Ford used to make A4LD, 4R55E, 5E55E transmissions in France for last 20 years, but generally for EU market. All Ford 4L Engines (OHC an pushrod design) are/were made in Germany only, in Koln, but more then 80% are installed on US pick ups!

All WABCO control units, solenoif valves and EBS modulators supplied to thr USA, Europe and CIS are made in Wrozlaw, Poland! For other markets they have plant in China.

and it is not all, I do not remember when did I saw Bosch injector nozzle made in Germany.. They are all made in Turkey and in Brazil now!!!

so i think this should not have anything with trucks , both continents have their + and -

but related to drink here you can get drink even if you are 12year old
i remember when i was 8-9 year old that i can regularly get cigarets and beer

so as much you go on east it is more and more drinking habits

so here is image of guy from last night he is underage , which can be also seen from its position-he lies on his back , experienced men would lie on his side so prevent to swallow tongue

Not much is completely american made anymore. Like my Harley, alot of the parts are not made here in america. More and more of this american made stuff should be relabled as "Assembled in America"

As far as the trucks, I will stick to the Peterbuilts, Kenworths etc. They fit my needs much better. I don't know but I perfer to have some type of hood out in front of me. I don't have to drive on them tight twisty roads like they have across the pond.

Funny thing is we get people from acoss the pond over here to drive in our company all the time. They love our trucks and hated the trucks they used to drive on the other side.

I don't understand how american ODs can make a living when all they think when choosing a truck is looks? I don't even know how anyone can think that those Flintstone trucks look good.

lets ask the quation for US drivers: who ever drove modern EU truck like Actros, TGA, R-series scania, Starlis?

The main different things for driver are: Synchro tranny + clutch servo (very easy clutch, better the car clutch), COE design, smooth ride, better brake system (EBS+disk brakes around), shorter a bit trailer (45' vs 48' but for me it is no difference), trailer wheels are moved to trailer center for smaller turning radius, better maneurability, 55 MPH speed limit.

but EU trucks are safer in roll over accidents and more dangerouse in front collisions, small sleeper, too hight entrance, more expencive parts, more complex truck, requires more skilled mechanics and other technicians.

US trucks are more reliable becouse of simple design.

Pablo from your point is tractor+semitrailer safer than rigid +drawbar/central axle setups

i mean in crash cab can go back almost 60cm on tractor like here

( for non eu members , here it is normal when you crash truck that cab separates from chassis and chassis beams and engine took force cab only smaller part ) particularly this truck crashed downhill driver fall asleep , it hit another truck this one drives 87mph other one less than limit ( limit is 56)
