That changed with the patriot act. Don't ask me how I know this...but per federal law any ticket to a cdl holder cannot be voided by a judge. The judge can downgrade the ticket, but not void it. My lawyer told me that, and so did the judge in tn. Not to say you won't ever find a judge, magistrate, that won't void it....but they are not supposed to. In tn you could go to traffic school instead of having ticket go on your record....but not cdl holders.

i do not recall saying the tickets here are voided. in fact, i was sitting right here, when i typed it.

as i said, (i guess i have to repeat it), here, at the bottom of the ticket, it asks the officer, "CDL Vehicle, yes or no", and the officer checks the appropriate box. as I said, i had gotten a ticket for speeding in MY car, and indeed, NO was checked off.

i really do not see why you had a problem reading that...

please go back and show me where i said...VOIDED..........???

I have been out of trucking since June, doing natural gas pipeline. Still going to keep CDL though as I plan to drive when I am laid off in the winter months.

I'd let mine go if I was going to quit for longer than three years. Most companies want recent experience and there is no need to carry a CDL for longer than that 3-5 year mark. A bonus of letting it go would be the reduced attention/risk from speeding tickets and the .04 BAC.

I thought you said it was several years ago? At any rate, I do not know about the officer checking a box on the ticket.....as I too was driving my car when I got the ticket and I went to court. If I could have just paid the ticket and not have it go on my record with the violation being 15 mph over the limit in 2011, I am a really dumb ###.

He's a transplant, we don't claim him as our own and I think he likes it that way.

Funny you say this, it happened to me. My CDL got downgraded here in Texas, and I never knew it. I still got hired by Schneider, but had to get my medical done, then went to DMV and upgraded my regular license back up to a CDL. Voila. DPS told my had I waited 6 more months, I would have lost my CDL completely. So guys, make sure you keep your medical card up to date!
