Because maybe they might wonder why the hell a truck is passing them on the right. As the saying goes, "If you're being passed on the right, you're in the wrong lane."
In most states passing on the right is illegal. I'd like to make eye contact with the idiot that is making me break the law to get around him, either in the no truck lane or on the right.
Passing on the Right
The laws in most states prohibit passing on the right except when the vehicle to be passed is about to turn left or the roadway is wide enough to accommodate two lanes of traffic. Even if passing on the right is allowed under one of these exceptions, the driver must do so in a safe manner.

If I'm in a major urban area like Dallas, I tend to be in the 2nd lane from the right. Only during congested times. People coming onto the highway are constantly darting in front of you, people exiting are darting in front of you, drivers brake-checking each other, etc. It's just too stressful being in the right lane in these conditions.

Most 4 wheelers have forgotten, that lane that merged onto the highway is properly called ‘the acceleration lane’. The purpose is to be at the speed of traffic of the highway before the time you at the end of the lane, so to seamlessly merge on the highway.
