At least he went down it at the speed limit. I believe it's posted 20mph for trucks there. I see the plastic truck crowd flying down that hill regularly.
Why do so many Trucks drive in the middle Lane?

You don’t ever want to be in right lane in Oklahoma City. People there driving faster will pull up to your left side. Park there. Then you can’t move over for a bunch of cars merging onto freeway.

Rookie driving. Swift teaches it also.

i don't mind a middle laner if they are keeping a fair pace and passing other vehicles. otherwise, get out of the way. slow traffic keep right, probably the oldest understood traffic courtesy in recorded history.
id guess they do it out of laziness & lack of skill.D.Tibbitt, Kyle G., LameMule and 1 other person Thank this. -

I run the middle lane alot running 70-71 mph, if I get done early I will sometimes slow down to the speed limit then I run the right lane as much as possible.
If I see a truck catching me in the center lane I will usually move over to let them by, but if I see them in the left lane I figure they are ok being in the left lane so I am less likely to move over for them.
I run the Northeast alot especially I-95 and my biggest problem with the right lane is there is always something going on with the right shoulder. Construction, maintenance vehicles, police activity, random 4 wheelers and lots of trucks sitting on the shoulder for whatever reason.
I realize that sometimes it can't be helped be it flat tire, mechanical break down or other major events. But most of the time they don't even have their flashers on. I feel like most people parked on the shoulder could at least make it to the next exit if not the next rest area, and constantly trying to move over and slow down from the right lane gets annoying.
Coming through Maryland especially on I-95 on a busy day there will be literally someone on the right shoulder every mile or two. Add to that most people, 4 wheelers especially, don't understand how to exit and enter the highway properly I understand why drivers like to run the center lane. I just wish they would pay more attention to their mirrors and move over when another truck catches them.
A couple years ago I passed one of our company box trucks sitting on the right shoulder, it was being driven by a contract driver that's been with us a couple of years. I gave him a call on the cell to check on him and he didn't answer. This was only a couple of miles from the farm so I saw him when he got back to the farm. I asked him why he was sitting on the shoulder and he said he stopped to take a piss. He literally stopped on the shoulder right in front of a rest area.
I guess he didn't feel like walking the 50 yards to the building, I said you know drivers have been sued for parking on the shoulder unnecessarily, he just shrugged his shoulders.Speedy356, Pamela1990, LameMule and 2 others Thank this. -

It's a lack of courtesy and common sense all around. A snowball effect of ignorance.

I can't remember for sure, I'm guessing the company that trained him was Steven's? And he came here to set everyone straight about proper mirror usage.
I'm sure you can dig the thread up, a lot of us here posted at least once.
And beyond that, there are frequent posts here from people that think they are supposed to be using the middle lane. My opinion is the middle lane isn't any safer, it just feels like it to some people. -
LameMule and Pamela1990 Thank this.
