Why do some on the forum say that truckers don't make more than a fast food worker

Wow if a 24K salary sounds good I'd hate to see who you drive for!

Your logic seems good.... However, try it and see how fast your Job is replaced with another CDL grad who is dying to work much cheaper than you.

    See how that works?

No I'm not giving up my citizenship but just debasing the fact that free room, board, and insurance doesn't balance the sacrafice that a soldier makes for his country. If current truckers think they'll be better off in fast food then they should go but they will be highly dissapointed

That is actually a more accurate way of looking at it, imo. Everyone is stuck on this "per hour" comparison nonsense. Heck, if I did that, I wonder how much per hour I averaged in 2006 as a highly paid mid-level exec? Keep in mind, I usually got to work 53 miles from home through SoCal traffic at 6am, got home at 5pm, but continued working until about 9pm via VPN. Probably pretty bad, especially if I consider the travel time to and from work as work time.

Of course it wont happen, never said it would. I was making a point. Thanks. You may want to curb your attitude. This is a friendly forum and I have more than double your time in trucking and before that double in the military. It seems as you are just antagonizing people. If it was that great at BK why aren't you still there? I love my job.

As an E-1, perhaps. But don't forget the medical care, the COLA allowance, Per Diem in certain cases, BAS, BAH, etc.... Comes out pretty good. Don't be fooled by that base rate.
