Actually, I think of the 'SuperTrucker' type as those that have quite a bit of experience, with the attitude that they don't have to drive safely as long as they get their load there on time.
I constantly see truckers in such a hurry that they feel that they can not give more than 6 feet of distance between their front bumper and the rear bumper of the car in front of them, trying to move them out of the way so they can tailgate the next driver in line, while the whole lane is moving at the same speed as every other vehicle on the highway.
Truckers that pass my lowly 63 MPH truck, cut me off and slow down, just so they can take the next off ramp that is 100 yards away. (that happened just today, again)
Truckers that pass me doing 65 on corners that should not be taken at more than 55, all the while weaving between their lane and mine.
And the list could go on.
I may be wrong about the experience aspect with some of them, but not about the attitude.
The 'SuperTruckers' have that in common, and in spades.
Why do SuperTruckers treat the new drivers so bad here?

experienced drivers are not the only ones that drive/behave in the manner that you decribed,you just get passed so much and so often that you have formulated an inaccurate assessment.i can only imagine but those ultra slow trucks must make even a werner @65 appear to be aggressive if only because they barely get around you.be truthful-that 63 mph eats at you doesn't it? That was not asked in a sarcastic manner,but to get passed all day every day by so many vehicles has got to mess w/you metally.KUDOS to you for having whatever it is that allows you handle your current situation.Last edited: Jun 24, 2012

Driver, you should be ashamed of yourself for praising e-logs. They are just another way for companies to pay their drivers less money. E-logs and a slow truck do not mix. Hell, e-logs and fast truck would not mix, even if it was a drop and hook situation. There are too many variables involved (as any experienced driver knows), in getting a load from point A to point B. Weather, traffic flow, load/unload times, road conditions, and mechanical issues must be taken into consideration. The e-log drivers are always in a hurry going in and out of the truck stops. The whole concept of e-logs making everything safer is rubbish! E-logs will not usher in a culture of safer drivers, as you are being led to believe. It only puts the driver in a constant state of rushing. The previously mentioned variables, totally render trip planning a joke, with the e-logs. I see e-log drivers shut down on ramps, and breakdown lanes 5-30 miles away from the truck stops. Well enjoy logging electronically. Smile driver! Pretty soon you will be on Candid Camera.

It is not about ripping newbies. The average newbie abhors getting advice and/or criticism from a driver with some experience. Perhaps, the average newbie wants to truck for the wrong reasons. Trucking is a lifestyle. Trucking has to be in one's blood. The average newbie will go into a truck stop, and will see an old school hand, and will not go over and strike up a conversation with him. The average newbie is not willing to learn the craft. The average newbie refuses any help. DO NOT BE THE AVERAGE NEWBIE, NEWBIE.
