Why do truckers get angry about certain things

You take any non trucking person driving and put them on the road for weeks(sometimes months) at a time(more than likely alone with nothing but the cb,radio,cellphone for company with traffic cutting them off, bad directions, and all around disrespect from the general public and you would be wound a little tight to. People have ###### days at every kind of job out there were just more noticeable. The guys that are trucking will deal with it better than most b/c its what we choose to do and some even like the job lol but thats not saying its easy by any means.

We get pissed off because 4 wheelers (people who are not truckers) can't drive there cars right and put our lives as well as theres in danger.

We live out here, the interstate was built for us. Not for cars,RV's, locals, busses. But we are the one's who are treated as thrid class citencens.

 

I delivered RV's for 5 years. My truck has 2 valid Level 1 Inspections in 2008 alone. Guess what, it is subject to the same rules you have.

 

Uhhh... I don't think so. I believe the interstate highway system was planned as part of our national defense system... to allow the rapid and efficient transport of troops in time of war.

 

Thats part of it but it was also built for the transportation of INTERSTATE goods. ie OTR trucking.

You're right, you are. But 99.9% of RVer's aren't. They are the ones I'am talking about.

 

I'm more inclined to use a rest stop than a truck stop... but I don't think four-wheelers would go to truck stops if the truck stop operators didn't welcome them. From what I'm reading here, those "travel centers" (truck stops) seem to enjoy our patronage.

So please, don't be laying all the blame on four-wheelers.

 

Truck stops would not have become Travel centers if 4-wheelers would have stayed the #ell out of them. I try to be as rude to them as I can when they come into truck stops. Hoping they will get pissed and never come back. So yea I can and do lay it ALL on 4-wheelers.

 

I get really, really tired of all the bigotry that seems to surround us, everywhere, every day. I hear it on the street, and read it in the local paper. Folks complaining about all the "jerk truckers" out there.

I see it here on this forum, and I hear it on the CB, truckers complaining about all the "jerk four wheelers" out there. Sure, there are jerks everywhere. But #### it all, that does not mean that EVERYONE who is in any particular group is a jerk.

I just noticed this. And will probably say many of the same things others said...but here goes.

Ever seen a tire inflated to 500 lbs of pressure? Think of yourself, as #500 for the day and the above question and answer, will make sense.

First: The odds of an RV getting a ticket for being parked in a "car" section are much, much lower than a truck. Although I did see one get a ticket for being parked on the get on ramp, in TN.

Second: Just because you have one of the newer RV's with the slide out sides. Doesn't mean you should try taking 2 or 3 parking spots up in a rest area...so you can "feel like home"

Most times, the driver has waited on the goob in front of him to move. And finally gave up, and went inside to pay, get coffe, and get harrassed by the cashier about the slowness of Com-Data network.

Of course, there are always a couple of goobs. In every crowd.

This does not compute Dave..... Stuck at 55 and blowing his horns, but passed by him at 65 ?? Why did ya slow down? Odds are he was building a head of steam, and you got lucky.

Must be the new math...But still does not compute.
