Why do truckers tell stories?

After last week, I no longer have to work. I broke the Bitcoin bank code and now I'm worth 11 million guad drillion dollars. My wife Halle Berry no longer needs to make movies..

 

You're misunderstanding the motivation behind the counter stories. A storyteller like Twain knew full well that you didn't believe his stories, they were told for entertainment alone. Well, throw in an occasional "moral of the story," too. But these idiots at the counter actually expect you to believe their stories, and they are told as a means of enhancing the teller's ego, as the personality types that tell these kinds of stories are extremely insecure.

I can enjoy a good tale, but when you're insulting my intelligence by expecting me to buy your line of BS, I'm out.

Why should we buy any of your story when such an easily researched piece is untrue.

Then throw in that the F15's launched the ASAT missiles at 38,000 feet (although an F15 can reach 100k feet,) and we have a truckstop counter award winner!

after being alone in a little box for hours days and sometimes months on end they will say anything just to have some to talk to .

Its is just plain old fashioned lonesomeness and the need to interact with another human it is just that simple no more no less .

You can tell yourself whatever you need to so that you can make it through the day, but you have to ask yourself, can I tell that to the judge?
