The ones that impressed me the most are the ones that talk the furthest with the least amount of power. Quite often they are stock Cobra 29 right out of the box on Factory antennas on a brand new truck.

It just sucks they had to spend all that money to accomplish those results when they could have spent a fraction of what they did.
I don't recommend amplifiers for anyone until they can Master 4 Watts. Otherwise that power is just going to waste

exactly nuff said. more power means just that pushing your signal out further. distance you pick up and receive depends on many many factors. if your running power how far do you really think your going to pick up a guy's signal that's running a stock cobra 25 or 29 with a 3/4 foot Francis or whatever with crap coax....get real I know better...............................

That's only true if all that power is on the fundamental frequency otherwise it's a waste of time as well as a waste of money.[IMG]

Antenna antenna antena first then a nice radio 4 watts will do and for a long distance for traffic emergency to pass info of lane pile ups 100 watts gives you two dB a few more miles a good trucker cber or ham !!
