And if you get caught you will lose your equipment and be fined heavily. Good luck.

If you want to run illegal power, just get a Ham radio license and run up to 1500 watts legally. Ham radio frequencies aren't clogged like CB and thus you can easily talk hundreds of miles on handfuls of watts using repeaters.

Ok, so commo wasn't my strong suit. What's the best legal and safe means to boost range on a cb?

Designing the most efficient antenna system for your vehicle.

And then add a 500 watt kicker!

Many truckers don't have the opportunity to perfect their antenna system due to slip-seating, time restraints etc, so a little extra kicker is a good way to compensate

The problem is with an imperfect antenna system an amplifier is never good compensation. If the signal doesn't want to get out through your antenna putting more power into that antenna isn't going to help the problem.

90% antenna efficiency is imperfect. If I add a decent 100 watt amp Im gonna do fine. Not perfect; but fine.

My point is, in this rough and tumble business a lot of guys wont be able to devote the time and effort to make an antenna 100% perfect
