    Hello everyone.

I'm neither a trucker nor live in the US. But i've recently had to deal with uShip. A driver offered a 3000$ bid on my shipping and i agreed. During the later events i've found out that not only i had to pay additional 100$ to uShip as "Service Charge" but also uShip took 400$ from the price offered by driver. It seems to me that such fees are really high. Perhaps, i know nothing about american trucking but i really wonder why do truckers work with uShip.

As far as i know there are other web-sites and mobile applications which match shippers with drivers. I haven't explored them thoroughly so probably they are no better but still there must be some reason why uShip is so popular. On their web-site's main page they claim to have almost 800 thousands servise providers. So what's the secret?

I've browsed the board there from time to time and most of the bids I see are so low I wouldn't even waste my time hauling that stuff in my pickup if I was already driving that way anyways.

Isn't U-Ship what they used on that A&E show Shipping Wars? Where it was mostly hotshot guys and girls? I always thought U-Ship had to fund that show or heavily sponsor it because as the seasons went on they sure did talk about it a lot. That show was always comical because everyone's tactic on it was "Today I'm gonna make as much money as possible and try to go the shortest distance." Well no kidding. I'm not an O/O and I really don't know $&@# about $&@# in general and I could tell ya that's how it needs to be done.

I always suppose that noone wants to work at a loss so the people making these bids probably can afford such low prices. Or do they hope to get more money using some tricks after their bid is accepted?

You're probably talking about Uber Freight? Have you used it? Is their approach better for truckers?
I can't download Uber Freight's mobile application in my country but on Play Market it is much less popular than uShip's one.

Don't know enough about Uber to recommend or not recommend; just know it's there for comparison.
