I thought maybe this would be a good thread to start, for the help of others and myself.

So without further ado, why do you drive trucks?

For me, I have always loved to drive. I actually don't enjoy driving in my car near as much as in the truck. The truck is home, I like to sit higher, and there is just no replacement for grabbing gears and listening to the engine work. No replacement for looking out over that long hood, and looking in the mirror to see that stack there. I love to see different places all the time, and do a job that gives me lots of stories to tell. Plus, I love the outdoors, seeing the weather, good and bad, is so much nicer then being trapped inside 4 walls with stacks of paper around me, listening to a light bulb flicker!

because I'm too old to be a gigalo, too young for retirement, and the gov't hate competition when it comes to criminal enterprises

I love this job for many reasons. Like you, I love to drive. Even though I run the same route, 340 miles daily, this truck provides me with different views everyday. It has provided my family and I with a nice home, a lot of toys and a good living. It gets me home every evening and lets me spend the weekends at home with my family. As a company driver, I get to be my own boss and make my own decisions. I have a unique situation and will stay here until I retire (10 more years). Like you, trapped around four walls is just not for me.

    Drive safe
