The point is, you dont save that much time. And you do risk alot by speeding, but, whatever you like, I provided a link to the formula if you wish to correct my math. In any case, It was more about how speeding saves little time, especially when you concider other factors such as traffic fuel and other things, but, have your fun, I figured I would bring some information out, even if my math is wrong. The raw info is correct. Double check if you like.
Why do YOU speed....if this is all you save?

I'm not missing a point. When the speed limit is 75, I roll 75. And you roll what? 62?
When the speed limit is 70, I roll 70. And you roll what? 62?
When the speed limit is 65, I roll 65. And you roll what? 62?
When the speed limit is 60, I roll 60. And you roll what? 62?
When the speed limit is 55, I roll 55. And you roll what? 62?
When the speed limit is 15 in a school zone, I roll 15. And you roll what? 62?Raiderfanatic, MackDaddyMark, Truck Driver and 8 others Thank this. -
Edited just for you honey bunch, my bad math aint there anymore save a little that IS accurate.
And it dont matter who I like, or dont like. They are all drivers. Just because some are not ... far sighted enough to apprecate the buisness reasons for a limit on speed......thats not my fault. -
62X10= 620
____________
130 difference over 10 hours.
You don't know how I drive. I'm just pointing out basic math. The formula you linked was probably written by someone with an agenda.Kansas, Raiderfanatic, BigJohn54 and 1 other person Thank this. -

I drive 59 mph just about all the time on the interstate no matter what the speed limit is in my 72 mph governed truck. driving 59 I get about 6.5 miles per gallon and 72 I get about 5.3 miles per gallon. Most guys at my company do the 72.
3500 miles a week is about what I get when I work the full week.
3500 divided by 5.3 is 660 gallons
3500 divided by 6.5 is 538 gallons
122 gallons less fuel for the week is about 374.00 so I make about that more per week on my check driving the same amount of miles. Yes it takes more time but I don't care.pcozzy Thanks this. -
130 diff
130/10 (hours) = 13 miles
13 miles x .34 =4.42 cents
For every hour you risk it all
you gain 4.42 cents
Good for you.
Happy now math nazi? Last time I try to put up some interesting/helpful info for a while for sure. Not to mention no one has awnsered the question of why they do it for so little, but whatever. -
I don't get paid by the mile. I get paid percentage. So your math is irrelevent to me about 50 million other driver'ssouthtx and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
With the last truck I owned I had the cost per mile down to the hundreths of a cent. I knew exactly what it cost to run at 63, 65 70, 75. How many trucks have you owned?
As I stated, you know nothing about me. I don't go around insulting people, or using "cute" deragatory names, unlike you have with me and others here. Maybe you should mature a bit.lilillill Thanks this. -
