My truck will do 65 GPS indicated SOMETIMES flickering up to 66.
I'm rarely speeding in any SANE state.
I go as hard as I can mostly to get a parking place in a truckstop. -
This has happened a couple of times.... A 62mph truck get out to pass a 61mph truck and cuts me off in the process then can't go anywhere. Yep thats all my fault isn't it? The best part is when they are doing this over a hill and neither of them can go anywhere holding up traffic. When they get to the other side they start the WV overdrive race down the other side. They're neck and neck going nowhere, the traffic is starting to back up behind us. Yep thats all my fault isn't it?
I'm sure you see where I'm going with this, right? Sorry I don't care what anyone thinks, trucks governed under the posted speed limit are a hazard.outerspacehillbilly, Cowmobile, rich_t and 2 others Thank this. -
^ that leads right into...
Last night I was running trying to get a decent parking place. I was clearly catching this other truck. Pulled out and got about 3/4 past him. And there he stayed.
I truly do not understand many of my fellow truckers.....Raiderfanatic and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -
Boo hoo. The argument is not about governed trucks or not (I dont even drive yet) It was a question of why people SPEED when there is so much to lose/risk
I did not say 70 75, 65, 55, I said SPEEDING
Thusly: Going over the posted limit.
Why do this and risk it all?
But its devolved, so Im unsubscribing -
Is it correct to say that if you're at 80,000 or even 60,000 you won't average 75 if you run 75. And you won't average 62 running 62 that heavy. You'd have to run about 80-85 to average 75 when loaded. Empty on relatively flat terrain than you might come close. A loaded truck running 75 and an empty one running 62 most likely will not be much difference when you consider grades , mountains, etc. -
Absolutely agree with that one^

outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.

until all drivers are paid by the hour and not the mile, the speeding will be a problem
and even then--how many times have you had to get to one end of the city from the other to catch a shipper before closing?--
not to mention being dispatched without enough time to get there with out speeding--or jit loads -
