I honestly have no idea what all is there but I frequently see 45000 lbs of food products or retail in/out of there and I know that means DC and I know that means time lost and I know that means no thanks.

    Grove City OH
    Tipp City OH
    Lumberton NC
    Midway TN
    London KY
    Cullman AL
    Brundidge AL
    Gordonsville VA
    etc. etc.

Just a few examples of how to be miserable in trucking from my part of the world.

I hate brokers because they take money that should go to the drivers. THEY are risking their lives, their trucks. everything, to deliver freight. The broker is sitting in a room, making money, doing nothing. I hate brokers because some of them require I install tracking software ONTO MY PERSONAL PHONE. I told my company "Um no, unless you pay for my phone, you ain't tracking it." Then they say "Well then you'll lose the load." Ok, well that's fine but nobody is tracking my personal phone. Lo and behold, a few minutes later I still get the load sent to me and the broker is ok with calling me once a day for an update. That's fine, but you ain't tracking my personal phone, bro.

I’ll tell you something crazy that happened to me about a month back under a broker load. They required me to download one of those apps and I had had it downloaded before like maybe a year earlier. Broker calls me to tell me I need to download the app. Which I had not done yet. And he said to me “oh I see here. You’ve already had the app on your phone. I can actually see right where you’re at and that’s fine. I can track you. That’s all I don’t need to download unless you want and I said wait a minute. I deleted that app and haven’t put it back on my phone. What do you mean you can see where I’m at? I guess it leaves files on your phone even after you delete it and they can still see where you’re at. That is a bunch of nonsense to me. I don’t know if all the apps do that and I don’t remember which one it was, but I called the app creator spent hours babbling at me about did you read the fine print. Who has time for that as a truck driver? So yeah these guys can probably see where you’re at as long as you own that phone even after you delete it.

Yeah because there's so much fat and waste along with very little competition in transportation that brokers just get to sit around doing nothing and collecting a paycheck for it. Easy money.

Man, I guess my cultivation of skills, knowledge, relationships, and problem solving for a variety of problems for all manner of customers and carriers is doing nothing.

We could do without you. We mine as well deal directly with the customer. That way we don't have these "you gotta install OUR tracking software on YOUR phone or else!!!" BS that we have to deal with from people like you.

Personal responsibility is at an all-time low. We not only run Trucks but we also broker. So I get to see both sides of it. This industry has always been supply and demand it lives and dies by it. I told my guys last August that it was going to get rough and they needed to save whatever money they had to make it through the shortfall. Some listened some didn't. Year to date we are down 600,000 from last year and 800,000 from the year before. The main thing is have a business model that will survive the tough times and then you will flourish in the good Times. But don't go around thinking that it's always gonna be good times and you're always gonna make plenty of money. @wore out is so right, You will go broke slower, not doing anything than you will running cheap freight. All in all, all I'm saying is we need to quit pointing fingers and take responsibility for our own decisions. Our trucks have done a lot of bouncing this year, but I just absolutely refuse to haul some of the crap that's on the load board lately. And it's not the Broker's fault well maybe in some cases it is but if you don't take the loads, there's nowhere to go but up. Good travels and God bless.

If we had a nickel everytime somebody said that. It's actually a waste of space to even respond to it.

With all due respect, is anyone making you deal with people like him?
