Why does my reefer have to be at -10?

    I’m not “worried” about it, but I don’t need to waste it either.

    most of the time I just run 0.

    I get produce loads out of Cali that don't settle for several days. Stuff was supposed to have been chilled.

    Many customers place temp monitors in the freight. If you can't afford fuel, raise your rates.

    0 was always since I remember, it is just couple of year ago for some reason everyone started to request -10. When it is not hot outside, it is fine, but over 80+ only newer units can do that. I see every older reefer run it at 0 barely making it.

    Once you start pulling reefer, there will be "worry" only to deliver correctly, nothing about the "waste", cuz there is none, it is part of the rate they pay.

    I did a lot of Costco chickin, they place recorder and GPS tracker in the box)

    It happens, I had 60F dough couple of time loaded and shipper demanded -10F))
    I had two days to get to the place, did manage to get it to -10 gradually reducing temp by 3-4F every couple of hrs to have unit work normally without constantly raving on high..
