You must be taking about those 62 mph "solar-powered" trucks. The companies govern them at 62 and they all run electronic logs which makes each day into a foot race for them as they are limited in the number of hours they can drive. The good news is that once the sun goes down, all of those company trucks get off the road and park in truck stops. Thus the nick-name "solar-powered" trucks, because they quit driving when the sun goes down.

The truck that is going only 1/2 mph faster has no business passing. What's wrong with them slowing down because he/she can't pass in a reasonable amount of time? If the guy keeps slowing down for passers how the heck is he gonna get somewhere?

Reasonable ill slow down for another to pass. When I was TMC and SNI I did it more until crete or swift or JB would try to pass. Just because you have .5 mph on me don't mean u can pass. I'm gov @ 70 mph now so There's not much leap froggin goin on. But still never hold up the flow. I leave that for all the DA drivers.

As for hills, if someone comes out to pass me going up a hill and they lose momentum because they are heavier, their truck isn't geared for hills or they just don't have the power, I am not going to back out of it and lose my momentum. If you can't pass me going up that hill, wait until you can pass me and go for it. I am more likely to back out of it a bit when I'm not trying to climb. When you do pass me, make sure you have enough time before the next hill to gain a comfortable space so I don't have to pass you back to keep my momentum up the next one.

This is a problem that will not go away unless fuel prices fall back to mid 1970 levels again and companies remove the governor restrictions they have programed into the Rigs CPU's.

That is NOT going to happen so this is a problem that will not be resolved until someone discovers a new source of power production. In other words we as a species need a quantum leap in how our power is produced. Can anyone say Warp Core or Quantum Singularity power production? That is not a realistic expectation and is not going to happen in my lifetime (or yours).

So it comes down to this, a 65 (55, 75) MPH speed LIMIT is just that the maximum limit at which one can LEGALLY drive, the minimum speed for the interstate is governed by the individual states, some as slow as 35 MPH and most being around 45 MPH, so a driver going 62 MPH in the center lane is perfectly within his/her rights to do so.

While I'm at it the left lane is BY LAW the PASSING lane, not the fast lane as it is commonly referred to by 4 wheelers or the hammer lane by drivers. What that means is that UNLESS you are passing another vehicle (car/rig/motorcycle) you need to be BY LAW in the right hand lane. Sucks doesn't it, but I neither wrote nor voted on ANY of these laws that our elected officials have shoved down our throats.

So please drivers lets all show each other a modicum of courtesy on the road. The childish road games some of us insist on playing are best reserved for theme park rides, not the open road.

Well said Injun, i try to be as proffesional and couteous as possible with my so called solar powered truck but if i am being passed by a super trucker going 70 and we hit a hill and fast truck slows down, i will pass cause makes no since for me to slow down and lose my momentum, only if i have a clear shot,

If you slow down for the poor, pitiful, gravity-challenged supertrucker - you end up downshifting, going much slower and impeding traffic. The net result is that more people are inconvenienced while we allow Mr. Supertrucker's ego to get stoked a bit. He should have known better in the first place than to try to pass on a hill.
