I'm still old school.. love the cb.. love to ratchet jaw for hours.. but seems most drivers dont even have one or never turn it on.. Still like to tell tall tales..an listen to tall tales.. its funny.. if you tell a driver your on his back door.. they think it has something to do with sex.. or if you ask if you can hop in the rocking chair.. they have no clue what you mean.. lol..
Why doesn't anyone talk on the radio anymore?

Nana,
If you ever see my purple peterbilt with the yellow fenders give me a holler & I'll be glad to chat. I figure you will have a better shot at picking me out of a crowd since the crowd has so many Swift trucks in it. I posted some pics of it in my profile. The company I drive for was all out of gawdy trucks so I got this one.
We run 70% Texas, 20% Regional & 10% OTR so obviously you are more likely to find me around the lone star state.
By the way I am old school & still use a handle. I go by MusicMan these days. -
im 16 just got a cb in my car and was hoping to hear people talking and haveing a good ol time but most of the time all ill hear is silence or people cussin which dissapoints me
i really wish that those of you who still use your cb would key up and bring back the good ol days of cb and act like the veterans who taught you so we can get this trash off the radio and make it respectable againsandbagger Thanks this. -
The new CB/HAM users need a bit of mentoring.
You hear gripes all the time about the young guys but some people have to remember at one time we were those young guys.
CB back in the 70's became a cesspool because EVERYONE had one and few like today knew how to use it ....
With the droping of the code HAM radio had a few problems too...
Many wish for the good old days but they are gone and it's today we are dealing with yep bring on the elmers ..... we need all we can get ...Attached Files:

Have you tried listening to other channels besides 19? especially a little later into the night? That's usually when you would probably hear people on base stations shootin' the bull... -
You might try driving to the highest hilltop you can safely park on and spend some time tuning around the channels. The elevation will increase your range and chances are you'll find some decent conversation.
-
All I hear is nonsense noise from idiots. I only put a radio in my truck if I am doing longer runs with another guy from my terminal nearby.
-
i would but here in wisconsin its pretty much flat land
and im gonna have to try some other channels than 19
i have been talking to my friends trying to get them to get cb's some are considering it and others are against it but truely we need to bring cb radio back to the way it was popular and respectable -
I notice your fairly close to Green Bay.If you get up to greenbay tune around, I have talked to base stations in the Green Bay area from here in New York.

I commend you on your attitude. Wish a lot of kids your age were like that.
Most (kids) who have a cb get on some of the other cb forums that have other young kids on them. They realize that if they tune their radio beyond its means, then install an amp they can babble with their "world wide" crap. All they have is an awful radio that they splatter all over ch19 (and beyond) because they think we all want to hear how loud their radio is.
